Law of attraction

In February I get the opportunity to visit one of the ABN branches abroad. Talent management provided us with 6 destinations and we have to figure out who goes where.

Law of attraction.

I am going to Dubai.

Landrover driving with ABN

ABN AMRO believes that an outdoor experience is beneficical for personal development and teambuilding. For this reason my group, Management Traineeship 11, were invited to take the boat to Hull and drive landrovers. Don't I look cool behind the wheel?

We spent 2 nights on a boat. On the way there the wind took over and almost everyone was sick, but on the way back, we celebrated that we managed to survive resulting in a serious hangover and very little sleep. Good fun though.

Next to the boat there was the Landrover element. The first day I was sceptical. Such big cars and steep hills. The last day we drove around the hills like it was nothing, although we had had to manage our personal safety.
The surroundings were absolutely beautiful. Rough English landscapes, snowy hills, green fields, really nice.

The last element were the trainers, always difficult for me to surrender to the management of others. For them the condition were very tough, icy and snowy roads, sick people, delays etc. Basically when u imagine your worst-case scenario, that is what they had. We had to work on specific personal development issues, which is interesting under these circumstances. Unfortunately the time for feedback was very limited, so I made progress but I was not very satisfied with the result. I feel like I could have gotten more out of it, but that is life. Interesting enough, this is close to one of the areas I need to work on: stop striving for 100% and making it so difficult for myself.

Am exhausted now but good times.
