green day in chill out weekend

Had a bit of a weird day today. I decided that this weekend was going to be my chill out weekend. I went to pay a visit to my parents. They have a big garden where I can lay in the sun, read and just relax. Am trying to change to my eating habits in the last week. I discovered that I eat too much and should cut down but in a healthy way (no diets). My mother came up with this book, inspired by yoga and meditation. According to the book, green foods create a kind of fotosynthesis effect on people; destressing; more energ';detoxing and so on. So far so good.

You can eat whatever you want but have to stick to green foods, so grapes, advocado, salads, kiwis and so on. It did not seem too hard (you can eat everything u want as long as it is green) and was not a diet so how hard could it be??

Well, looking back now at the day, I can really say that this was really really really though.
The purpose of the method is to create a healthy relationship with food and give your food the energy it needs to detox itself. The problem is that in western societies some people (ME) develop a different kind of relationship with food, so you have certain cravings that have nothing to do with hunger itself but more like addictions.

By eating these green foods you experience detoxing (cold turkey I might add), both mentally and physically. That is ofcourse where the meditation comes in, but you try meditating when the only thing you can visualize is chocalates twirling around your head. Since I do know that it is actually the point of mediatation to get rid of negative thoughts, I sticked to it, but it was indeed very hard.

My key learning points looking back at the day ;-):
- I love chocolate, pastas, fries and eh did I mention chocalate?
- I do have a non-healthy relationship with food, need to observe (and change) my eating habits more often
- Experienced weird sens of eating feelings, where you are not hungry but simply want to eat
- added several new healthy recipes to my list
- I should meditate more and do more yoga sessions
